We’re very proud to have recently supplied Funktion One Research with some new promotional photographs showcasing their PA systems.

These particular images show the Funktion One system being used for a full orchestra production featuring Charles Hazlewood as conductor and performer among other notable classical and contemporary artists including Adrian Utley from Portishead and Will Gregory from Goldfrapp.

Bloc Festival – Cancelled

I’m sure by now most people will have heard that this years Bloc Festival was cancelled.  We were supposed to be covering the entire weekend on the Main Stage featuring artists like Amon Tobin, Snoop Dogg and Orbital among others.

We had only been on-site a matter of a few hours before it became apparent that the entire event was going to be shut down.  From our own observations on the ground this was absolutely the right decision to take on the part of the organisers.  It’s a very sad outcome but was unavoidable.  We wish the organisers well and hope that the fall out can be limited and this unfortunate event doesn’t mean the end of Bloc.

Whilst we were there we met some fantastic festival staff that had been involved with Bloc Festival from the very beginning, they were all extremely upset by the turn of events and we wish them all the very best along with the organisers.

There has been much speculation regarding the reasons for the early closure but this really is futile, the MET and the organisers will make their reasons known as soon as possible in the mean time jumping to conclusions helps no-one.

“We are currently gathering information about Friday night’s events. We are also working to ensure that everyone will be refunded for their tickets. Please bear with us while we do this.

Thanks to all of you, as well as the many artists and crew who travelled across the world to come to Bloc – we are so sorry that we couldn’t deliver the experience we had planned.

And thanks so much to the event control, security, stewards, police and public who worked together to ensure that no one came to harm during the peaceful evacuation.

This is far and away the most important result of the night.

For those of you who are frustrated and angry – we hear you. For those sending love and support – thank you.

More news soon.

The Bloc team x”

SWN Festival – Cardiff

Lenssniper has just been confirmed as one of the official photographers at this years SWN Festival held in the city of Cardiff. The festival is curated by BBCs Huw Stephens. There is a truly insane number of bands playing at a number of venues across the city over the course of 4 days.

Should be a very fun and interesting opportunity to mix with some up and coming bands. You can read more about the festival and view the full line up on the SWN Festival web site.

Back from Green Man 2011

Well that was quite simply amazing!  13 day shoot covering the entire Green Man Festival being built, enjoyed and then dismantled.  Met lots of really good people whilst I was there and the sunshine was frankly freaky.  The rain started when I came home to the south west!!

I arrived on site the week before the early ticket holders were due to arrive so the site was still being built, most of the main stage structure was complete already but there was still a lot of work to be done.  The Big Top arrived shortly after I did so I started the shoot covering the tents being built.  After that it was a case of getting around the site each day to cover the progress of the various projects like the Green Man sculpture, Tree House, Nature Nuture, Einstein’s Garden etc.  Was amazing to see it all come together.

Off To Green Man 2011

Lenssniper is off to Green Man Fesitval 2011.  I’ll be covering the whole festival this year.  Documenting how the site develops leading up to the open, and also sticking around to watch the clean up operation.  Really looking forward to it!
