We’re very pleased to announce the completion of a new site for a new client.
The new site has been built for 10 Gallon Events Ltd to promote the Once Upon a Time in the West Festival. They needed a fresh site that was both easy to use, eye catching and functional. Responsive design was a must since the site will also be used during the festival for announcements, meaning lots of mobile users.
Take a look
Hello All! Whilst it’s been quite here on the JamSoft blog we have been working on the next version of SampleSort. Whilst there won’t be any major new features in this version there is a lot of optimisation and bug fixes to arrive in the next version.
People are still reporting the odd occasion where SampleSort doesn’t complete a complete system scan for files which is hugely frustrating for everyone.
If you do experience an instance of this it would be appreciated if you could visit the JamSoft Google Group and add a message and attach the log file to help us determine what occurred so we can include a bug fix in the next release of the application.
You can find the log file at the following location:
Happy New Year to all the SampleSort users! Here’s to a successful 2015 and the next version of SampleSort!
We have just setup a nice brand spanking new Google Group dedicated to discussion about JamSoft and SampleSort. It’s open and ready to discuss anything you want to about the software and how you use it and anything you would like to see happen with it in the future.
You can view and join the group here.
Well here is a good start to the year. Whilst there isn’t anything new in the application as of this version there have been a number of things changed under the hood. Lots of tidying up of code and some bugs ironed out of the database system with the application and a few code efficiency issues fixed. You can download v0.7.0 using the link below or if you have update notification turned on SampleSort will automatically download the new version for installation.
Well it’s a new year and we thought it was about time we updated the JamSoft home on the web. Hope you like the new web site and find it useful and easier to use than the previous site.
There is a new FAQ page to replace the old Wiki. We will use this new page to address some of the commonly asked questions and queries about SampleSort. At the moment we are looking at a more robust forum to use on the new site so watch this space for news on that. We are also working towards a new release of the application sometime in the 3rd quarter of 2014. Very exciting times!!
We are currently working very hard to get the release of v0.6.8 out the door as we discussed a few days ago. This is a very high priority for us as there are issues with 0.6.6 (the currently available release) running on Windows 7. A recent update from Microsoft has changed the way some automation features work and this has had an impact on SampleSort. We have already implemented a fix for this which is included in the v0.6.8 release which will be available on this site hopefully later today!
I hope we’re all enjoying the summer at the moment and what a cracker it is. Things have been a bit quiet on the SampleSort development front of late as we have been trying to decide on the best course of action on how to move things forward.
We have been talking to end users to try to get a feel for where we should take the application. I have also been approaching various industry folks with a view to getting their input on various topics as well. We at a point where we are collating all of this together and should have a good road-map for moving this all forward in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile, if any of you people out there in user land feel the urge to do a spot of promotion on our behalf we’d love to hear from you!
Beta testing is an incredibly important phase in the development life-cycle of any piece of software. It’s a process of making available pre-release versions of software to end-users to be put through its paces prior to general release.
To focus on delivering better software we are always looking for more beta testers to join our team and make an active contribution to the project. You will be required to participate by downloading and running the latest pre-release beta builds of SampleSort with a view to providing detailed feedback on your experiences using the application.
By taking part you will be able to feed into the development process and get to see your contribution, ideas and requests realised as we move through the pre-release beta phase of each version of the application.
This is an exciting and very rewarding process of making great software. If you feel like this is something you are interested in and have the time to take part we would really appreciate your input.
To get stuck in and start helping get in touch via the link below and we will make the arrangements for you to be added to the beta team.
